Fabric Design Competition Winners!

It's finally time to announce the winner and runners up of our fabric design competition in partnership with The Sewing Directory, Brother Sewing Machines and Sewing World Magazine. We were very impressed by the standard of all the entries, there's clearly a lot of talented designers out there.

It was a really hard job for the judges, Fiona Pullen from The Sewing Directory, Julie Briggs editor of Sewing World and Stuart Stamp from Brother, to pick the winners. In the end it was very close between the top two designs, with the winner taking it by only 1 point! The theme of the competition was of course sewing, scroll down to see the winners below.

First Prize

Winner!

Suzanne Washington

The winner will receive the Innov-is 10a sewing machine pictured above, kindly provided by Brother Sewing Machines. The winner will also receive 3 metres of her design printed onto fabric.

Congratulations to Suzanne Washington who won with the design pictured above. The judges felt that this design was just like one you'd find in the shops, and that it works very well on repeat over a long length of fabric.

Congratulations Suzanne, I hope you enjoy sewing your fabric on your new sewing machine.

Runners Up!

There were 4 runners ups who will each receive 2 metres of their design printed onto fabric.

Elizabeth Gomm

The design above by Elizabeth Gomm was a really professional looking print that any stitcher would love to use in their projects.

Lindsay Buck

This gorgeous collage style print was admired by all the judges, Julie felt it had "lovely colours and an interesting design".

Wendy Flynn

Wendy's colourful buttons caught all the judges eyes. This fabric would work well in many different projects.

Irene Dickson

We felt that Irene's design had a great retro 50's style to it plus a lovely colour palette.
