Sadako's Good Luck Cranes - Japanese origami

By: Marketa Stengl

Elegant design featuring origami cranes on a blue background full of textures like small hearts, circles or cherry blossoms. Inspired by the Children's Peace Monument for child victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. After visiting Hiroshima few years ago I can't forget the thousands of origami cranes at the Children's Peace Monument and the story of a girl called Sadako Sasaki who made more than a thousand cranes before she died. If one creates 1000 paper cranes, they are granted one wish. She wished to have a world without nuclear weapons.
