My Favourite Peranakan Ware Blue

By: quasimode

This design is the product of nostalgia. Growing up in Malaysia, I was drawn to the unique culture of the Peranakan Chinese, whose impeccable artistry is prevalent in every aspect of their lives, from fashion to cuisine to music to architecture. And owning Peranakan porcelain would be a source of pride to any collector. Now that I'm far from home, this illustration depicts what I could spend hours gazing at as they sit prettily in my make-believe display cabinet. Perfect for lovers of chinoiserie and famille rose, this design is suitable for curtains, upholstery, cushions, bags and clothing.
