I love colour, texture and movement, and I wanted this piece to include all of those elements. I had also been inspired by some of Hundertwasser's art, as I really admire his use of colour and design. Using strips of fabric, ribbon and wool which I couched down onto a backround fabric with machine stitch, I further embellished with some applique. With today's trends for neutral interiors, this fabric would add sumptuous splashes of rich colour for cushions, seat pads, or blinds. It could also be stitched into bags, or cut into smaller blocks for patchwork and quilting.
