• Create Your Own Labels!

We're always amazed at the number of uses our customers have found for their Woven Monkey fabric. However, did you know you can also create your very own fabric labels using our service? With just 1 metre of plain cotton (146cm x 100cm) you can have lots of labels printed with a design you've created, and at a size you want.

Once your fabric arrives you just need to cut out the labels, ready to go on your products! What are you waiting for?

  • Half Panama Has Arrived!

We've introduced a new fabric to our range, our Cotton Half Panama. This is the heaviest fabric we've launched to date, and is perfect for those of you looking for something thicker than our cotton drill or organic twill.

If you're interested in knowing more please visit our fabric guide or even better why not purchase a test swatch for only £2.50, with free UK delivery.

  • Postage Charges

Since starting our company just over 18 months ago we have always charged free delivery to UK customers. In that time we’ve seen our costs increase, but we’ve always resisted raising our prices or charging postage to cover these extra expenses.

However, after a recent price increase by one of our suppliers it’s forced us to look at things again. We aren’t increasing our prices, but from today we will be charging postage to UK customers on certain orders. It’s not all bad news though. For small purchases it’ll still be free delivery, and for those spending £100 or more it’ll be free as well.

See our table below for more details:

    £10.01-£29.99 £2
    £30-£69.99 £3.50

  • New Printer!

This week we've been out shopping and bought ourselves a brand new printer. This investment will mean we can get even more of your amazing fabric designs out the door each day. Now we just need to figure out where to put it!

  • Reducing Your File Size

As many of you are aware our file limit is 30mb. This means we often get asked by customers how they can reduce the size of their files, so they can be uploaded to our site.  That's why we've come up with some handy tips to help:

    i) Make sure when saving your file no layers are included.

ii) Convert your file to a JPEG with a small amount of compression. As long as it’s only a small amount this shouldn't affect the print quality.

iii) Look at creating your designs at no more than 300 DPI.  A very high DPI doesn't always mean better print quality.

  • Organic Cotton

We're always on the look out for new fabrics to print onto, which is why we got very excited when we found an organic cotton supplier.  What do you think about us offering an organic fabric?

We're going to be looking at several organic cottons, and if testing goes well we're hoping to launch a new fabric in the next few months.

  • UPDATE: What To Do With Fabric Scraps

Back in January we asked you for your suggestions on what to do with our fabric scraps. Thank you for all your great ideas. We've decided to go for Pippa Peycke's suggestion of an opt out policy.

This means when a customer makes an order they will have the choice to opt out of having their fabric donated to PlayWorks, by clicking a box on the site.

We'll be working hard on making this a feature on the website very soon. In the meantime you can be assured that no fabric will be donated until this is in place.
