IMPORTANT – Your design must be a unique design and not breach anyone’s copyright. By entering the competition you confirm this and accept liability for any copyright breaches.

The competition is limited to entries from the UK and Ireland only due to the cost of shipping the main prize out of the UK.

Top Prize - Keen to support budding designers Brother have kindly offered the beautiful Innov-is 10a as a prize for the winner. This machine is simple to use and features 16 stitches, including 3 style of buttonholes plus it would look fab in any sewing room! To use with your new sewing machine we will be sending the winner 3 metres of their winning design printed on fabric. What’s more Sewing World will be featuring the winning design in their magazine which will be great exposure for the winner. The winner will also be interviewed on The Sewing Directory website.

Runners Up Prizes - There will also be 4 runners up prizes of 2 metres of fabric per runner up, printed with their design. The runner up designs will also be featured in Sewing World.

All entries should be submit via the Woven Monkey website using this link: http://www.wovenmonkey.com/competition
When you upload you will get the option to choose your layout, you can put your design on repeat, half drop, half brick, mirror, or centre. Do see their site for more information. The file specifications are below, you need to make sure that:

  • i) Your file is less than 30MB
  • ii) The image resolution is at least 150 DPI
  • iii) The colour profile is RGB, not CMYK
  • iii) The file has been created in one of the following formats: JPEG, PDF, EPS, AI, TIFF, SVG & PNG
Any issues with uploading your design please contact us at hello@wovenmonkey.com

Representatives of Sewing World, Brother and The Sewing Directory will all be judging the designs by allocating a number of points to each design.  The design with the highest points score will be the winner.  In the event of a tie break we will call in a fabric designer Nel Whatmore to have the final vote.
