Black Oasts on pale blue

By: A Bushel of Hops

Oast houses were once used to dry hops, most have now been converted into homes. The distinctive shape of these traditional buildings with their iconic cowls inspired this design. I had first sketched our own oast houses which are double roundels then local pair which are small and dumpy. That was the start. I imagined these silhouettes working to use for fabrics and wallpaper especially for furnishings like cushions, curtains and hop pillows I have also included 4 different cowls shapes - Kent, Sussex, Suffolk and lastly the Herefordshire and Worcestershire cowls in this design. If you would like this design in a different size then please let me know and I will happily alter it for you.
